  Kourier Integrator Release 4.3 Overview

The primary focus for the new release of Kourier Integrator is to simplify the development, usability and deployment of RESTful Web Services for real-time integration to MultiValue applications. Introduced in this release is new Kourier REST Gateway, which provides secure and scalable data access to MultiValue applications from outside the corporate firewall.
Release 4.3 also supports Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and includes significant improvements to Kourier’s support for additional data sources (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.) with the new ODBC Quick Start Workbench and advanced data profiling system. Users can quickly create a near real-time Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse using the profiled data to generate export definitions and maintenance-free Microsoft SSIS packages.

Kourier REST Gateway

Introduced in this release is the Kourier REST Gateway, a critical component of the real-time integration architecture. It’s responsible for providing secure access to MultiValue applications from outside the corporate firewall while it monitors, manages and measures REST Resource usage.

  • Create policies to manage resource access
    • Define the maximum number of requests per hour, minute and day
    • Define the availability for each resource (CRUD)
  • Define users and server/database security
    • Associate policies and databases
    • Routes requests to server and database
  • Visualize performance with the interactive dashboard
    • Graph transaction history
    • View REST resource statistics
    • Drill down into request headers, parameters and timers

 

REST Development Framework

Kourier’s REST development framework has been enhanced to streamline and simplify how developers build real-time REST APIs. Developers will be more productive because they can focus on the application interface instead of low-level protocol details such as data validation, resource security and transaction logging.

    • Query parameter validation

    • Pagination of large result sets
    • Field limiting for optimized results

    • Dynamic sorting
  • Event Handlers - add special instructions at specific time intervals
    • Events: Declarations; Before Select; Dataset Initialize, Header, Detail and Footer
    • Programmatically modify the Select statement
    • Leverage existing business logic
  • Improved API testing capabilities for U2 developers
  • Support for Accept HTTP header
  • Expanded REST statistics logging on U2 Server

Quick Start Workbench

Release 4.3 includes a new ODBC Quick Start Workbench, an improved data profiling system, and support for more ODBC data sources. Users can now quickly create a near real-time Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse from either MultiValue or other data sources using profiled data to generate export definitions and maintenance-free Microsoft SSIS packages.

    • Works very similar to the U2-to-SQL Workbench
    • Quickly generate exports and services by analyzing data sources
  • New ODBC Data Sources supported
    • PostgreSQL

  • General Enhancements to the Data Profiler
    • Specify selection criteria
    • Improved capability to break segmented files into their logical representation.
    • Profile results use easy to read mnemonics highlight data profiling exceptions.
  • U2-to-SQL Workbench Data Profiler Enhancements
    • Compare all exports for an integration and schema and report differences
    • Added the ability to select a verb, data file, using file, and select statement

Export Specification Improvements

These changes apply to all export types unless otherwise noted.
 
  • Added JSON output format for U2-to-File exports
  • Added Event Handlers - add special instructions at specific time intervals
    • Events: Declarations; Before Select; Dataset Initialize, Header, Detail and Footer
    • Programmatically modify the Select statement
    • Leverage existing U2 business logic
  • Resizable code segment windows allow you to see more lines
  • Specify attribute Value or SubValue in source column (replacing @record conversion)

Performance Improvements

 
  • Improved the performance of the Net Change with deletes processing when running an export
  • Improved the performance of exporting segmented large files

User Interface Improvements and other Enhancements

There is a new Kourier User Interface Skin, improvements to the online help system and other smaller enhancements.
 
  • Kourier's UI has a new skin and color theme that improves the appearance and readability
    • More color contrast
    • Increased font size
    • Content resizes better within windows
  • Improved online help system
    • Improved searching and Google-like search results
    • Improved content, includes many more examples
  • Import Transaction Listing page makes it easier to find specific transactions
